⠀ Hellooo to all the wonderful people reading my post! This is my entry for the design ACAs mascot competition! I took sooooo long making this, and I really do think that it embodies the spirit of ACA??? Or something like that imao. Anyhoo, please enjoy!

All about Acacia :3

To mish mash all of ACA into one character was harddd, but I like how this turned out!

Acacia is a very energetic and passionate girl. She adores other people’s art and often spends hours on ACA, trying to be the first to like e v e r y p o s t. She gets really annoyed when people bash other people, and protects everyone’s art TO THE END.

She loves lower case and pink and purple aesthetics, hence why she dyed her hair. Sometimes people get irritated about how energetic Acacia is about everything, especially the things she likes best, and she can be very full on at first, but once you get to know her, you can see that she’s very sensitive to people’s feelings as well and will stop if you ask her to.

As well, Acacia’s favourite catchphrases are ‘wh’, ‘omg’, and ‘yeet’ (she loves memes :smirk: ), she likes staying up long periods of time and stargazing, making other people happy, making edits, writing fanfiction and birthday cake.

Inspiration uwu

First and foremost, I wanted to create a very simple, yet interesting design.

I wanted Acacia to be human, because it would stand above the crowd, seeing as so many of the entries were animals, and because I think people can relate to humans more. Well, probably.

I also experimented with trying to get a unique shadow/ shape?? for her design. I wanted the hair to be sticking out of the onesie, so the curly hair in bunches really worked for me!

At first I started out by making a mind map of what qualities I thought a mascot should have, and I did some rough design sketches on lined paper of what I wanted her to look like

Then I redid the design I had chosen until I was satisfied, and I played around with expressions and poses of the finished product!

Design and name choices :p

I wonder why I chose the name Acacia 🤔

It took me so long to find the right name! I sorta wanted, at the start, for a soft, marshmallow like name, if that makes any sense? I also really liked the name Grace. But in the end, I settled on Acacia. It’s quite unusual and has ACA in it, which makes it the best name!

From the very start I wanted to do a girl in a onesie, and decided on a dog that was sorta based on Isabelle, as she is very iconic in ac. It went through a couple of design changes, and a few different animals, before settling on the final design!

For her colour palette I was mostly inspired by Leafeon’s (a Pokemon) creams and greens, and so went for mostly creamy yellow, with green and pink. I went mostly pastel because I know this amino adores those sorts of colours

How she represents aca 030

I based pretty much all of Acacia on my experiences on this amino so far, because it’s honestly been amazing.

Acacia is very active and energetic all the time, because no matter what time it is anywhere in the world there are always people chatting on here. Her catchphrases are based of off what people tend to say lots here (I’m looking at you curators :smirk: )

She loves to answer questions that other people have, because everyone here is so helpful, but if you don’t share any of her interests then you might have a hard time talking to her, because this place is purely for ac fans.

Acacia loves chatting, and rarely ever shuts up, and if she does she’s probably searching for a reaction gif or sticker. Friendly and welcoming, and somewhat intense, I really think she could be an amazing mascot.

I mean, if she is chosen it would be a dream come true, but anyWAYS

For all the digital art I used paint tool sai, my bae, and for the animation I used Krita! I know not many people know I do animations, but it’s like a secret passion of mine imao, and I’m really bad lol. Each frame I hand drew, and I tried quite a few techniques, some of which took literally forever, until I was happy with the way it looked. I had to simplify Acacia down quite a bit to make her easy to animate, so that’s why she looks different there lol.

I can’t really supply proof for the tpl, but just take my word for it that I made it, and it was my first time doing any kind of edit. I’m pretty proud of it actually!
