Why salmonlings CAN exist! (My version of salmonlings) [OE spoilers]

You may have seen them as OCS or fanart or thought of them, or maybe this is the first time you have heard of them. But i will tell you how salmonlings CAN EXIST!

This all takes place in Splatoon 3.

The NILS statue was blown up by pearl and agent 8. But the supreme DNA from the octolings isn't going to just dissapear. It went into the ocean, where the salmonids live.

Lets say Tartar's supreme DNA slodge got to where the salmonids live and mixed in with their water.

What i think will happen is that it will mutate the salmonids and salmonid eggs and give them the same features that octolings have that make the octos look humanoid. Their fin turns into legs, and their fins on their sides turn into arms. The hair still stays the same, i think it might become more slimy kind of like the octolings hair, but not fully with tentacles and stuff. They might also have some features of octolings like the eyeliner mask thing under their eyes and slightly rounded ears since they mixed with their dna.

This one i still am not sure about, but they might get the ability to shoot ink (and have an ink sac) as well, so it would work out if they become playable.

I think along with this, the DNA might mutate other salmonids differently and make them more screwed up, and we would have different variations of salmonids, like corrupted versions of salmonids, smallfrys, ect. Maybe these can be the new enemies of story mode.

At first, the salmonlings will at first be a uncommon/rare mutation among all the other mutations, but once they reproduce/any eggs affected that have the salmonling mutation hatch, there will be more of them. I don't know how it will affect boss salmonids though.

When you play Salmon Run (if they still have it in Splat3) you probably go back to your inkling or octoling kind of like how if you go into Octo Canyon as an octoling in Splatoon 2, you come out as an inkling. Their function in Salmon Run would be fighting you in the special rounds, and i think rarely they will appear on normal rounds (wether high tide or low tide).

This is how i think salmonlings would function in the game. I hope you liked all my ideas and I hope they do end up existing ;-;
